LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS
Faith, fire and fellowship marked the Multiply Leaders Conference in May

What are YOU doing with the Holy Spirit? Have you heard the call to the poor? What is in your imagination for the UK ten years from now?

Three questions, 140 leaders and one day: a day set aside in May 2002 for leaders from across the UK and beyond to gather together at Cornhill Manor in Northamptonshire where they would share on their hopes, visions and dreams, and discover how to be released to realise them.

Steve Calam, member of the Jesus Fellowship apostolic team, kickstarted the day with a call to action. Inspired by Hebrews 11, 'the archives of achievers', he said: "By faith you...do something. Fill in the blank with your name. If we knew God, we'd do a whole lot more."

In the afternoon the focus turned outward as different leaders shared on the way the face of the nation is changing. Jonathan Moon from Birmingham International Church spoke of God's great plan for Great Britain, 'the key in His economy for the world', stressing the importance of prayer: "I want God's best. I want to fuel more petrol onto the burning fire. How do we do it? Encourage people to come together to ask God. This generates power. Our willingness is essential," he added: "As far as God is concerned, there is no limit. We are the limiting factors."

Unlimited life was demonstrated by accounts of the groups springing up in Northern Ireland, where 'everyone knows the Bible but they don't know one another', and Japan, where the embryonic Jesus Fellowship church is marked out by its radical, real and passionate vision and brotherhood. Also brought to the forefront was the spiritual awakening seen amongst Iranian people in the UK at this time as, tired of constricts and legalism, they delight to give their lives to a God who delights in them.

Encouraged and challenged by all that was shared, participants then set off on the long journey home, determined to let God break through their self-set limits and write their entry in the 21st century archives of achievers.
